- Chromie, Keeper of Time

At first glance, Chromie is a charismatic but somewhat forgetful gnome, constantly distracted and intrigued by the world around her. But don’t let her appearance fool you. This seemingly precocious gnome’s true form is that of Chronormu, a powerful Bronze Dragon capable of bending time to its will, eternally tasked with maintaining the balance of infinite timelines by any means necessary. Sensing a disturbance of the greatest proportion in a brand new world, Chromie now makes her first foray into the Nexus… or is it her second foray? Or third? There’s really no telling. It’s so hard to keep track!

Check out the rest of the Hero Week blog for a breakdown of Chromie’s playstyle, info on her greatest friends and foes, as well as a brief rundown on a few of the bronze dragon’s most interesting talent choices.

Friends and Foes:

Works well with:

Muradin_120.jpg      Stuns and slows make Chromie a very happy gnome. Providing some frontline support and locking targets down for Chromie’s deadly damage combos, Muradin is a wonderful ally to the mage.
Malfurion_120.jpg Every spellcaster loves a little extra mana, and Chromie’s constant barrage of sand and magic makes her no exception. On top of providing mana, Malfurion’s Entangling Roots can lock down a target for some guaranteed damage - and provide a little extra survivability to our favorite fragile gnome Hero.
Murky_120.jpg Just like Muradin and Malfurion, Murky’s biggest asset when playing with Chromie is the incredible lockdown potential in Octo-grab. Unlike these other two Heroes, though, Murky also brings a devastating amount of damage that combos with Chromies perfectly. Together these two are tiny terrors on the battlefield!

Struggles against:

Tracer_120.png      Tracer’s high mobility and bursty single target damage can be problematic due to Chromie’s low health pool, lack of escapes, and reliance on skillshots. Try sticking close to the team to avoid getting picked off by this other time-tinkering menace.
Stitches_120.jpg Chromie’s limited escape options and low health pool mean that getting caught by a Stitches Hook is a veritable death sentence. Try positioning behind allies and minions and maintain vision of the enemy Stitches whenever possible.
Uther_120.jpg Chromie relies heavily on her burst combo to bring down enemies, which means Invulnerability effects like Divine Shield can be a real nuisance. Try to maintain awareness of the cooldown on this ability and coordinate with your team to force out a cast before unleashing your combo.

Talent Highlights:

storm_ui_icon_dehaka_essencecollection.pngBye Bye!– Reducing Hearthstone’s cast time by 75% and making it uninterruptable by damaging effects, Bye Bye! Allows Chromie to swiftly retreat from those unfavorable engagements. Peace out!.

storm_ui_icon_dehaka_burrow.pngPast and Future Me – If you thought one Sand Blast was devastating, wait til you see what two can do! Creating a Sand Blast copying past version of herself with every new cast of Sand Blast, Chromie can potentially pump out twice the sand blasting damage from a fresh new angle!

storm_ui_icon_dehaka_brushstalker.pngReaching through TimeCasting safely from the backline is Chromie’s specialty. With Reaching through Time, that specialty becomes a little… specialer. Increasing the range of both Sand Blast and Dragon’s Breath, Chromie is able to rain down damage from wayyyy downtown (move over Azmodunk!)

We hope you’ve enjoyed this celebration of the first gnome (and the first dragon!) to join the Heroes of the Storm roster. We’ll see you in the Nexus!
